Established in 2000 as a result of the decreasing number of Pilipinx students at UCLA, Samahang Pilipino Advancing Community Empowerment (SPACE) provides peer tutoring and advising, workshops and internships, and conferences and field trips to Pilipinx students in the Greater Los Angeles area.  Through personal development, academic guidance, and leadership investment, SPACE cultivates a community that fosters mutual self discovery within its staff and students in order to embody the ideals and process of empowerment that promotes access to higher education and the attainment of postsecondary goals.

SPACE envisions Pilipinx and Pilipinx-American students who are motivated to pursue higher education and postsecondary goals with respect to their personal interests by empowering themselves through:
