Pilipino Recruitment and Enrichment Program (PREP) was founded in 1979 to serve Pilipinx youth within Los Angeles, while simultaneously allowing college Pilipinx students to share their time and resources. PREP has continuously sought to address the barriers that prevented their community from achieving higher education, recognizing the unique opportunity as students to encourage the youth and equip them with their own experiences and insight.

PREP's mission is to equip its executive board and general members with a greater understanding of the importance of higher education, focusing primarily on the context of their own Pilipinx culture. Through the exploration of cultural identity, PREP seeks to learn the needs of not only their own community but also the needs of others. PREP's vision for this upcoming year involves serving as a first year pipeline into the greater Pilipinx community at UCLA.
