Pilipino Recruitment and Enrichment Program (PREP) was founded in 1979 to serve Pilipinx youth within Los Angeles, while simultaneously allowing college Pilipinx students to share their time and resources. PREP has continuously sought to address the barriers that prevented their community from achieving higher education, recognizing the unique opportunity as students to encourage the youth and equip them with their own experiences and insight.

PREP's mission is to equip its executive board and general members with a greater understanding of the importance of higher education, focusing primarily on the context of their own Pilipinx culture. Through the exploration of cultural identity, PREP seeks to learn the needs of not only their own community but also the needs of others. The culmination of these efforts are in hope that those involved with the organization will grow to be leaders and share their knowledge with those around them to empower and educate. VISION PREP's vision for this upcoming year involves serving as a first year pipeline into the greater Pilipinx community at UCLA. PREP aims to provide a space in which these new students are easily able to explore the resources available and foster friendships amongst themselves and other UCLA students. Through collaboration with Mabuhay Collective and Search to Involve Pilipino Americans (SIPA), PREP hopes to discover and address the needs of the first year community, while encouraging involvement in these spaces. Throughout history, PREP has been able to execute this fundamental goal through many means:
